Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning
Christmas Eve we had dinner at our house with my folks and Yancey's folks. Fairley and Bert got sick and so they had to all go back to Raleigh. We had a nice dinner and then got the cookies out for Santa and the reindeer food out for the reindeer. Christmas morning came fast, and two little children were very excited about their toys. After doing presents with my parents, the four of us headed over to Yancey's parents house for brunch and the famous "banging of the pots"! Emma Lou had a great time doing that this year!
Christmas with the Scott side of the Family
The last few years, we have had family events at my Grandmother's church. They have a large gym that allows the 7 little ones plenty of space to RUN! It also has plenty of parking and no one has to get their house all ready! The children all got gifts and then the adults played white elephant. Emma Lou and James don't get to see this side of the family very often, but had a great time playing with them while we were there!
Christmas with Big Papa and Grandma Betty
After decorating Cookies with Gail, we headed to Winston Salem to have Christmas with my dad's side of the family. James couldn't wait too long after being there to insist everyone do presents then. James got a remote control monster truck and Emma Lou got a Cabbage Patch kid. They also had a great time playing in this little rocking chair. It was my dad's when he was little. I played in it as well. I love seeing them open gifts in the room that I had Christmas morning in almost every year of my life.

Emma Lou's 1st Haircut
Well, I can't believe I did it, but I cut Emma Lou's Hair! She has had this part of her hair that was getting longer and looked..well, just bad. Yancey said she looked like Florence Henderson in the Brady Bunch, and would encourage her to say, "Where's Alice"! So, the other morning, he held her and I cut off the bottom of her hair. I'm so glad I did, because her cute little "bob" looks great!
