Vacuum Cleaner

The folks we bought our house from left an old fashion carpet sweeper. Well, James found it in a closet the other day and got it out. He LOVES it! He also loves the real vacuum and follows Yancey around when he uses it (I will admit that I DON'T use it!). Although this seems odd to me, hopefully it indicates that he will want to help me clean when he gets older :). (Please ignore the messy room in the background)

Trying to Feed Ourself

James is trying so hard to feed himself food with a spoon. Last night he had oatmeal for dinner (yep, I know Mother of the year dinner!). After a while of me feeding it to him, he wanted a shot. It went from almost getting it on the spoon backwards, eating the spoon, eating the wrong end of the spoon, dumping it out, trying it with our hands, and then trying to eat it out of the bowl....very messy, but very fun to watch! He'll get there one day!

Picnic at the Park

Since today was so pretty, we decided to pack a lunch and head to the park. We all had PB&J sandwiches! It was James's first PB&J and he LOVED it. He had a good time playing, but I think will enjoy it more this spring.

Family Picture

Saturday night we celebrated Yancey's mom's Birthday. Fairley, David, and Annabel came for dinner. All Isabel wanted was a picture of her children, their spouses, and their children. It is so exciting to see how the family has grown!

Eating with a fork

Today at lunch we gave James his silver child's fork that matches our silver pattern. After trying to just bite on the fork, we showed him how to pick up some food and put it in his mouth. Picking the food up with his hands is still easier, but I think we are going to keep working at using utensils.

Play Group!

James has two buddies that are very close to his age, Parker and Matthew. Their moms (which are two of my dear friends) and I decided to try and get them to play together. They all stay at home during the day and aren't around a lot of other children. Last week was the first play group. We are going to try and get together once a week. You will notice James's shirt is all wet....that would be the apple juice that didn't make it in his mouth!
