Shannon and Whitney visit

Two of my buddies from College came to see Emma Lou yesterday. We had a great time catching up. It was also an added bonus that NC State was playing basketball during March Madness. We ordered pizza and watched the Pack win!

St. Patrick's Day

James and I have done several things to get ready for St. Patricks Day. We made a cake (green food coloring does turn your mouth and tongue green!), did hand paintings, and put stickers on the windows!

Emma Lou's Newborn Pictures

The other day, we had some newborn pictures taken of Emma Lou by a local photographer, Vanessa Lewis. She is so talented and I loved what she captured. I purchased a package of photo sessions, so I can't wait to get some more taken. Here are some of the pictures.

Weekend in Wilson

Last weekend, James went to stay with my parents in Wilson. He had a great time! I'm so glad this worked out so he can do it again! My folks took him to see tractors (he sat on one), to the park to play, and to Pet Smart to see all the animals...he had a blast!

More Pics of Emma Lou and family

Emma Lou has had a lot of visitors. Here are some of their pictures.

Welcome to the family, Emma Lou!

I can't believe that four weeks ago I gave birth to our second child. She was 7 pounds 7 ounces, and 20" long. It has been a pretty hard four weeks, especially since you forget everything from the first baby! We were extremely blessed to have a healthy little girl. We named her Emma Louise, but are going to call her Emma Lou. James actually calls her Emma Louise more than anyone else. I was worried that he wouldn't take to her very well. The first few days he thought she should stay in her bassinet all the time. Throughout the past few weeks, he talks to her and even tried to feed her today. He is still struggling with the idea that she was in my stomach and now she is here! Timing worked out perfect for my mom to retire, because she has been a huge help in helping all of us adjust. I have had a pretty hard time with PPD, but thanks to some doctors and some meds, I am doing much better. Emma Lou is such a pretty little girl and I can't wait for her to grow up. I hope to be home until the middle of April (10 weeks, like with James). When we went for her three week check up she had already gained over a pound. We have been switching different formulas and bottles trying to help her tummy feel better. Here are some pics that we have so far.
