Another Baby?!?!
I haven't posted anything about our big news, but thought it's probably time. Yancey and I are very blessed to say that we are expecting a little girl around February 9th. We went last week for the large ultrasound and as of right now everything looks good. I am still very anxious, but Yancey tells me to be happy for right now! Please continue to pray with us for a healthy little girl.

New Swing Set
Thanks to an early Birthday and Christmas present from my folks, James has a new swing set! He had so much fun in the store playing on this, I couldn't wait for it to get installed. This one guy came and put it together in like 3 hours! James was so excited. He loves the swing and going up and down the ladder. He finally has his own "steering wheel". He doesn't seem to want a thing to do with the slide. Right before we went inside tonight, he "walked" up part of the slide and sat down on it. Maybe he will want to try it out more later.
Happy Birthday Big Papa
This past weekend we went to Winston Salem to celebrate my Papa's birthday. This is a miracle on so many levels...about four months ago, we didn't think he was going to make it out of the hospital. He has been home for a few weeks now and is doing well. I refer to my dad's mother as "Grandma." When we ask James what her name is, she says "Ma." Since James doesn't seem to understand that we call my dad and my grandfather both "Papa", I have a feeling, my grandfather might get called "Pa!"

Kinderbabies started back
I was so excited two weeks ago when the activities started back at Church on Wednesday nights. James seemed to really enjoy Kinderbabies towards the end of Spring. There were 17 children in his class this year! Thankfully, we have been able to move to a larger room where the parents can actually all sit down as well. I am glad that some of his friends are still in our class. The first night back, James didn't really participate much. The second week, he was back to normal....clapping, dancing, etc. It is also nice to be able to go downstairs and eat dinner with our friends afterwards.
Labor Day 2011
I'm a little behind on blogging, so here is what we did for Labor Day this year. We were able to go to the beach with Yancey family. On Sunday, my parents were able to come day for the day. James still hates the beach/ocean, but loves to be on the porch. He is going to be a porch monkey like the rest of us. Yancey has a small sailboat that he loves taking out, when he has time. It is normally a huge deal to move it to the ocean (over the dunes). For Christmas, my parents gave him a dolly type piece of equipment made to help move small sailboats easily. Yancey took his cousin Rob out for a ride one day and his mom the next. On Sunday afternoon, our friends Mike and Bridget brought their son Ben down to the cottage for a bit. I can't believe how big the boys are. It was that afternoon that we heard one of James' new words, MINE. Ben wanted one of his toys. James didn't like this and so took it back, adding in "MINE". We were excited to hear a new word, but shocked that he knew this. Bridget reminded us that there are good and bad things about daycare! It was a great weekend at the beach with family and friends!

Things James is saying and doing
I know I haven't posted Labor Day pictures, but I wanted to write some things that James is saying and doing before I forget. He is almost 22 months old. At his 18 month check up he didn't say anything (other than babble). We started some speech therapy for a few weeks. He is now close to 25-30 words. One of the words I love to hear him say is "tractor". He says "trac- TOR". Last week he learned two words that I am not thrilled about hearing, but still excited that he can say them..."no" and "mine". We hadn't heard him say "mine" before. We were at the beach for Labor Day weekend and when one our friend's children picked up a toy that belonged to James, he said "mine". We have had to put James is a day care at a local church recently and we think he learned that there. It is our fault about the word "no". We taught him to tell Chester "no" when Chester gets in his lap or tries to get his food. He has also learned "papa", "ne-ne" (nana), mama, and "da" (what he calls granddaddy). If you open the trash can he will say "trash". His favorite word right now is "Door". He is obsessed with wanting to open the garage doors with the clicker. We can barely pull into our neighborhood and he starts saying "door, door, door,". He wants us to hand him the clicker. This all might not be exciting to anyone else, but I want Yancey and I to remember all of this.
