I don't have any pictures of this right now, but James has learned how to walk. He still crawls some, but he can walk laps around the house. He has only gotten a few bumps and bruises so far! We have the "Boo Boo Bunny" getting nice and gold in the freezer just in case we need it.
I can't believe that this week is Christmas! I am so enjoying the Holidays more this year because we aren't deprived of sleep! Can't wait to see James and the wrapping paper on Saturday morning!

Chick-fil-a
I was a huge fan of Chick-fil-a before James, and even more so now. It is the perfect place to take a child. The staff is friendly,it's clean, and there are always other children there. After James had his haircut we went with Fairley and Annabel to Chick-fil-a. It was Annabel's first Chick-fil-a experience. I am choosing to believe that she is waving to me in her picture! Looking forward to more fun times with Fairley and our kids.
What a fun haircut

We made it a year!
We went yesterday for James's one year check up. Everything look great. Here are the new stats:
Weighs 24 pounds, 11 ounces (75%)
Length: 30.5 in (75%)
Head Circum: 48.5 cm (95%)
Wears size 4 diapers
Wears 12-18 month clothes
Sleeps from 7-7:30 at night until 7ish the next morning
He can walk as long as he is holding onto at least one of your fingers
He can say something that sounds like "dog"
He bables, but doesn't really say actual words
Eats anything, but is starting to prefer meat and bread over fruits and veges
Drinks 18oz of Whole milk during the day in Sippy Cups (3 feedings)
Has turned around in his car seat and loves it!
Is working on his 7th tooth
I'm sure there are more things that I have forgotten. This year has flown by! I wouldn't say it was easy, but it has been so worth it!

James has his First Birthday Party!
I can't believe that James will be one on Tuesday! Today we had a party at the house with some friends and family. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives! I think he would have eaten the whole cake if I had let him. James loves the new red wagon from Aunt Fairley and Uncle David! I'll post the new stats on Tuesday!
So this was my attempt at a Big Cupcake for James! At least the colors matched the smaller cupcakes!

The Cake and Cupcakes. One of my dear College friends came by for a visit and got stuck helping my mom and I make colored icing and decorate cupckaes. Thanks Whitney!

I think the "king" would have eaten the whole thing!

Our family friends, the Flora's, gave James this firetruck. He loves pushing it around. It did take Chester some time to get over the siren sounds!

Shutterfly Christmas Card!
Since Yancey and I have been married, we have used Shutterfly to share lots of events. Now, that our son is here, we use them even more. This Christmas is no different. They seem to have such a great collection and so many options. Shutterfly takes the hard part out and allows you to spend time picking the perfect card. In fact, Yancey and I sat down last night and were trying different pictures in different cards. It was so much fun. This year we are using a folded card, something we have never done. I am excited about this because it will allow me more space to write notes to people. We are so excited about sending out pictures of our almost one year old son, to all of our friends and family. Shutterfly always seems to be offering a good deal or discount on their products which is great and helps now that times are tough.
Here are some sites you can check out that show what Shutterfly can offer. \

Hampden Sydney
Today was Homecoming at Hampden Sydney where Yancey went to college. It was such a beautiful day! James did so well. We started with lunch at the Hitching Post...a local restaurant that Yancey picked! We were able to sit and watch the game and see some special folks that mean a lot to Yancey. We saw the man who was the president of the college when Yancey was there and Mr. Bottom who has been such a great influence for Yancey. I hope we can take James back many more times!
Hill Ridge Farms!
Last Sunday we took James to Hill Ridge Farms in Youngsville. I hear it advertised every day and so we decided to check it out. We had a wonderful time! We took a train ride, a hay ride where we were able to get out and get our pumpkins, played in the corn hut (which I enjoyed much more than James) and had a picnic lunch!
